Packing the Truck Day!!!

Okay, I'm mush today. This morning at 9:00 a.m., there will be 3 burly men ready to pack my truck (which, by the way, I still have to pick up and DRIVE to my house . . . .). Anyway, my oldest daughter, Shannon (I call her Sarg because she's a Staff Sargeant in the Air Force and believe me -- I know how the recruits feel now!!! HAHAHAHA) has been a TREMENDOUS help with all this packing. I probably won't be able to post again (on purpose rather than me just not getting time) until after I'm set up in Rock Hill sometime after July 5th. I'll keep track of the going's on we have on the road.

I attended my last meeting at Mile High Stampers this month and they were so sweet to get me a cake that said, "We'll Miss You Wanda" on it. These are a GREAT group of ladies who are VERY talented!!! We were taking pictures when Rochelle noticed a hand-made portapotty. She said I needed a picture on it for prosperity's sake. We took the picture and Mia said it should be captioned "It's Been Fun, But It's Time to Go! (Hopefully, she was referring to the fact I was looking at the catty that will be retiring!!!)" HAHAHAHA See the attached picture.
Take care everyone and I'll see you later!!!

More Puppy Cards and FANTASTIC News!!!

Here are a couple more puppy cards for my friend. The first one kind of looks like a "golden retriever" if you stretch your imagination a bit. :o) I embossed the image with black embossing powder on water color paper, colored him with more mustard water color crayons and then blended him with an aqua painter. I found I like that a lot better than the second dog, which I stamped with Stazon Black and colored him with watercolor crayons and blended them with a blender pen. My coloring leaves a little bit to be desired anyway, so I need all the help I can get and the crayons are incredible!!! LOL

I'm still in the throes of packing, but am starting to sweat a little bit as time is running a LOT faster than I am!!! (see me wipe sweat from my brow!) I need to pack more than I am, but I will have to put it in passing gear the last week of the month, as the truck gets packed June 28! I'm REALLY excited about my move. Just wish I could hurry me up a little!!!

Recipes for first card:
Cardstock: More Mustard, Basic Black, Watercolor paper
Ink: Versamark; More Mustard Watercolor crayon
Accessories: Aquapainter; gold brads, dimensionals

Second card:

Cardstock: Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black, Chocolate Chip and Black watercolor pencils

Accessories: Blender pen, vintage brads; dimensionals

My FANTASTIC News! is that I just received word that one of my photos was accepted by Photographer's Edge (the company I buy my cardstock to make my photo cards), and it will be published in their fall catalog! This is HUGE news as I'm sure they receive thousands of entries and I only turned in this one. Guess I'd better get my rear in gear and submit a few more, huh?

Well, thanks for stopping by!! Got to try and pack a few more boxes before I call it a night.

Another Doggie Card

Here is the second doggie card I made for my friend. He wanted just plain cards so he could write what he wanted inside. This card uses a stamp from Magenta. Before becoming a SU demo, I had purchased TONS of stamps from other companies, so I thought I should drag some of them out and use them. Duh! :o)

The puppy is stamped in Black Stazon and colored with Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel markers. The cardstock is Creamy Caramel and the photo corners are Chocolate chip and after inserting the gold brads, they are popped with dimensionals. The puppy is punched with a 1 1/4 square punch and after matting, this piece is popped with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy the cards!

Hello!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but this packing is starting to get to me. Imagine that??? I did, however, sign a lease on a house to rent in Rock Hill, so I'm breathing easier about that!!! My girlfriend, Costella, says it's, "Absolutely Gorgeous!" so I'm believing her since she's more picky than I even am!! he, he, he

Anyway, a guy I work with wanted me to make him some doggie cards, so these are the ones I came up with for him. Hope you enjoy them!

This card uses the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss folder and the dog stamp is by Stampa Rosa. I used Basic Black, Bashful Blue and Whisper White cardstock and the ribbon is the striped grosgrain in Bashful Blue. The images are popped with dimensionals. I will post the second one in a second post since I don't quite have the hang of how to post two pictures in one post!!! HAHAHA

Thanks for looking!
