Random Act of Kindness

This beautiful card was sent to me by Carol Milham. I FINALLY found the stamp set Stella Stamper and Carol was gracious enough to sell her to me. I've been looking for that set for YEARS!!! Much to my surprise, when I opened the envelope, this lovely card was also enclosed. It's made with the retired God's Beauty hostess set. It's hard to see, but the background the focal pieces are on is a Cuttlebug folder, Argyle. Now, you know I had to have this folder as I LOVE texture on my cards. I'm so glad Stampin' Up! has added more folders to their current catalog.

She embossed the butterfly and flowers on vellum cardstock with black embossing powder and colored them on the reverse side with markers. The butterfly and two of the flowers are popped with dimensionals. The flowers have lemon yellow liquid pearls in the center to give them more dimension. The leaves are stamped on Whisper White and punched with a large scalloped circle punch. The sentiment is punched with the word window. The ribbon is the Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon. I'm REALLY going to miss the old In Colors, but I have to say I'm enjoying the new ones. :-D

Hope you all enjoyed this card as much as I did. I definitely see a CASEing in my future!!!

Thanks for looking!

Totally Missing in Action

Hi Everyone!

Sorry that I've been missing. There's a very good reason. I had bi-lateral hip replacement surgery in June. I can't tell you how many "Bless your hearts" and "BOTH hips at the same time?" I've received. I'm five weeks out and really getting around well, still walking with a cane though. I'm feeling more myself and starting to stamp again, so I wanted to share my scalloped bear card with you. I'm sorry that I can't remember where I saw this, so if you recognize it, please let me know and I'll be happy to give you credit. Note to self: do better at remembering things . . . . :-D

His face is made with the Bigz Scallop Circle #2 in Chocolate Chip and the inside of his ears and snout are Creamy Caramel punched with the 1 3/8 circle punch. His nose is the small heart from the Heart to Heart punch. The eyes are small ovals in Whisper White and the lids are Creamy Caramel. His eyeballs are 1/2 inch circle punches. I drew his mouth and whisker holes are drawn with a fine sharpie, but you could also do it with a black marker. The birthday sentiment is from Stem Sayings. I made the catch lights with the white gel pen. Yoyo Yellow and Real Red make the card base.
Hope you enjoy him!

Crystal French's Reinker Spread Technique Card

Hi Everyone and Happy Mother's Day!
This technique has taken the stamping world by storm!! I have the unique pleasure to let you know that my BFF Crystal French came up with technique!!! She is an AWESOME stamper!!
The roses are from the Fifth Avenue Floral collection. Using Shimmer White cardstock, you emboss the stamp in white. After it has cooled off, heavily spritz the cardstock (you want puddles of water on it). I used Riding Hood Red, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and So Saffron reinkers for this card. Just touch your aqua pen in the reinker and dab it onto the cardstock. The color will spread where the water wants it to go. Just keep touching color on the flowers until you have the desired effect. Let it dry completely. I punched the leaves from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits die cuts. Of course, I had to use my favorite Top Note die. The mother's day stamp is from All Holidays. I popped the roses with dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Very Versatile Sympathy Card

This is a card I did for a swap from the Occasions Mini. I stamped the flower and sentiment from the stamp set, Very Versatile, in Cameo Coral. I punched the eyelet lace punch (don't you just love this punch???) in Cameo Coral cardstock and used the designer paper, Walk in the Park. The flower and sentiment are popped with dimensionals.

Two Days in a Row!!!

This has got to be a record, me posting two days in a row.

This card was made with Echos of Kindness, which is a Level 2 hostess set. I stamped the flowers with Black Staz-on and colored the flowers with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery markers. I left white space in the flowers here and there. The words were stamped with Basic Black and mounted with dimensionals. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. The brads are Pretty in Pink.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

The Swiss Cheese Brain Strikes Again!!!

Where does the time go? I didn't realize a MONTH had passed since I last posted!!!
Anywho . . . this is a layout on a card I got from Tara Bazata, who is my upline, upline, upline (you get it). I changed my colors to use the Bella Rose paper. I'm going to weep when that designer paper goes away. I just love it.
The stamp behind the die cut daisies is from Priceless. The brad is from the Flower Designer Brads on page 175. I die cut two medium daisies and one small daisy and offset them. I attached them to the Priceless swirl piece, and then popped them with dimensionals on the card.

It is So Spring Here . . . for now anyway . . . :-D

The weather has been fantastic this weekend. Although, I hear we are in for more rain and near freezing temperatures later in the week. At least it isn't SNOW!!! LOL My friends know how I feel about that stuff. . . :-D
Anyway, here's another card we made in my last class. I used the SAB designer paper and cut out the Top Note Die with the Big Shot (I'm LOVIN' my Big Shot!!!). The flower is from Thoughts and Prayers and I colored the stems with So Saffron and Certainly Celery markers. Used the slot punch on the sides and ran the ribbon behind the designer paper. Hint: Don't pull too hard on the ribbon, or you'll tear your paper (been there, done that). :-D After stamping and tying the ribbon, attach it to the Certainly Celery card base.

One of those cards that "morph" into something else

Hi All!
Here's one of those cards that seem to change itself. I had originally wanted to make a "setting sun" behind the buck on this card, but was having issues on getting it like I wanted it. Then I thought, why not just make a black and white card out of it? So, I stamped, with Black Staz-on, the tree and grass on glossy white cardstock and then stamped the buck to make him look like he was in the grass. This focal piece is popped with dimensionals. The ribbon came about as a "happy accident" in that I had started to use non-SU ribbon (I know . . . bad girl), but then thought, why not make a 5/8 ribbon out of two kinds of SU ribbon? So the black gingham and grosgrain became my faux 5/8 inch ribbon. The sentiment is from On Your Birthday.

Hi There!

Happy Almost Easter!!!

Here's an Easter card I made using A Good Egg. Isn't she cute with her stripped eggshell on? :-D

I used the Tea Party designer series paper for the top and shell and SU's wide oval to punch out the chick. The scallop is a Marvy punch (the pink one). The So Saffron is the full size with the designer paper attached to the top after running the So Saffron through the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Tie the Pretty in Pink ribbon along the edges of the designer paper and So Saffron. I popped the chick with dimensionals. I forgot to color in her beak with either Only Orange or Pumpin Pie before I took this photo, so you might want to do that for your card. I punched a word window at the bottom right, stamped the happy easter on a scrap of Whisper White and attached it behind the window and then assembled the card.

Recipe:

Stamps: A Good Egg

Cardstock: So Saffron, Whisper White and Tea Party designer series paper

Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie marker for beak

Accessories: Wide Oval and Word Window punches, Marvy (pink) scalloped oval punch, Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals

The Luck of the Irish . . . .

Hi Everyone!
Seems I have the "Luck of the Irish" since I remembered to get this posted before St. Patrick's Day!!! LOL
This is a card we made in class. We stamped the hearts from Polka Dot Punches (SAB) in Chocolate Chip on Garden Green Paper and the stem is from the set Cheep Talk (it's the bottom of the branch with the leaves). Layered on Whisper White, then Garden Green, then Certainly Celery and the card base is Chocolate Chip. The Happy St. Patrick's Day is from All Year Cheer III (retired). I used the Chocolate stitched 5/8 grosgrain ribbon on the side to tie in the Chocolate Chip cardstock. The "bling" in the center of the "shamrock" is from the Pretties Kit.
I'm modifying this card for a friend of mine to make it a birthday card. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow for you.
Super easy card. Thanks for stopping by!!

Another Simple Card

Here's a card I made with the stamp set Pocket Silhouettes and Heard from the Heart. I stamped them in Kiwi Kiss and punched them out with the Wide Oval punch. I then punched out wide ovals in Kiwi Kiss and offset them on the punched out flowers. The Kiwi Kiss ribbon is glued to the Whisper White cardstock and then trimmed on the edges. The flowers are popped with dimensionals (they don't stick well to the ribbon, so make sure they are on the top and bottom of the flowers. The sentiment was also stamped in Kiwi Kiss. I scalloped the bottom of the Whisper White. I cut the Whisper White 5 1/4 by 4 1/4 so it would have just a little of the Kiwi Kiss showing after you punched it with the scallop punch. I didn't care for the look if you cut it for a regular card front.

Hello All!

I'm showing you all a card I made for a swap for Sale-A-Bration, using the stamp set, Polka Dot Punches. I LOVE bright colors, so I HAD to use Pacific Point in this card somewhere. The other colors came along kicking and screaming. LOL

I stamped the five point flower in Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red and punched it and it's corresponding color. I attached them together with a little adhesive and then a black brad. I popped them with dimensionals. I used black grosgrain ribbon on the middle piece, tied into a knot (I really seem to get getting away from the full tied bows). :-D

The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly. I like this layout because you can make it any type of sentiment you want.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Weekend is Almost Over . . .

Don't you just hate it when your weekend flies by? That's what has happened to me this weekend. Yesterday, I looked up and it was 2:30! Where does the time go?

Okay, on to fun stuff. Here's a card we did at a recent class. It's a CASE of a card in the catalog on page 147. I really loved the softness of the shell (you have to stamp off with the Baja Breeze) and then stamped the sentiment with Close to Cocoa. The designer paper is Close to Cocoa. This card is seriously easy if you need a quick birthday card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Seaside and On Your Birthday
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Close to Cocoa; Close to Cocoa designer series paper
Ink: Baja Breeze and Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, ticket corner punch.

Here's another card we did at the same class. We used the Love You Much stamp set. Using an Xacto knife, I slit under the birds' wings and then inserted the middle size heart from the Heart to Heart punch and glued it down. The background is the hearts in the Love You Much set and the Happy Valentine's Day is from Holidays & Wishes. I popped the focal piece and sentiment with dimensionals and added the small punched hearts.

Just Futzin' a Little

Hi Everyone! I was futzin' (playing around with) the Flores suaves set from SU's Celebrando Creatividad catalog and came up with this card. The flower is stamped in Riding Hood Red (I'm having a red fetish lately!) and sponged around the edges. The sentiment is from Holidays & Wishes and the little heart is from the new heart punch. I used the scalloped edge punch on the side of the Bella Rose designer series paper and tied the Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon on the side.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!!!

Good Morning!
This is the last of my class cards for January. I used the Love You Much stamp set, stamping the heart in Riding Hood Red and coloring the flowers with Pink Pirouette and a blender pen and touching the little circles with Riding Hood Red and a blender pen. After I put the card together, I used a two-way glue pen and put Dazzling Diamonds on the flowers. You can see just a little bit of sparkle (thanks to my glitter queens Kelli and Crystal!! You guys taught me well). The Happy Valentine's Day stamp is from Holidays and Wishes. I popped the focal piece with dimensionals. The little flowers are from Flight of the Butterfly (wasn't sure I liked it after I stamped it). :-D
Got to get ready to go to work. See you all next time!

Happy Birthday Card

Hello Stampers! (Don't I sound like Dawn Griffin?) LOL
Here's another card we recently did for my January class. I used the Textile embossing folder from Cuttlebug on the three white panels. The flowers are from Eastern Blooms and I colored the flowers with a Yoyo Yellow marker and the stem in Old Olive. I punched 3 flowers from the Trio Flower punch in Yoyo Yellow and adhered them with gold brads. The ribbon on the side is Old Olive Twill (okay, am I having a Senior Moment? I can't find it in the old catalog and I know it's from SU!). I popped the focal piece with dimensionals.
Thanks for taking a look. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Thanks!!!

Surprise!!!

Hi Everyone! Imagine two posts in one week!!! That's a miracle for me!!! LOL

Here's another card I recently did for my Denver class.

It's using the new Elegant Thank you stamp (I really want some more of those stamps on the last page -- what a deal!). The card also uses the square scallop punch. Punch four scallops in Riding Hood Red to make a mat for the thank you sentiment. The designer series paper is the yummy Raspberry Tart. I used Riding Hood Red cardstock and ink on this card, along with Kiwi Kiss. Really simple card.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am SUCH a Blog Slacker!!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm finally back and have to apologize for being such a blog slacker (I saw that somewhere and LOVED it!!!) :-D

Here is a card we made in one of my classes. I saw the quilt technique online and just had to do one.

It is so easy. Punch 12 pieces of designer series paper with the 1 1/4 inch square punch. Adhere the pieces to a 4 1/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White cardstock using two strips of snail per row, and then using the Top Note die for the Bigshot, putting the "quilt" face down on the die, cut out your die. The scallop behind the Thanks a Bunch is also a die from Sizzix. I popped the sentiment with dimensionals. Tie your ribbon before adhering to the card base.

Thanks for stopping by and I'm really planning on being better about blogging!!! :-D

Recipe:

Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Whisper White and Rainbow Sherbet Designer Series Paper;
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Stamp set: A Little Somethin'
Accessories: Top Note and Scallop Circle #2 Sizzix dies, white grosgrain ribbon and dimensionals.
